Theatre Tampa Bay Acknowledges Black History Month Promoting EDI Initiatives

February 2022

Theatre Tampa Bay is a non-profit organization committed to promoting and supporting professional theatre in the Tampa Bay Area. We are comprised of a volunteer Board of Directors who are dedicated to the local professional theatre community. We offer several programs for our member companies and individual members. Companies are organized in 2 tiers: Awards Eligible and Basic Membership. Each company is recognized and promoted on our website and social media. Companies who elect to be awards eligible are adjudicated by a panel of judges and included in our annual Theatre Tampa Bay Awards presentation.

We frequently organize committees that support our Board of Directors. Currently, this includes a panel to promote Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Members of this EDI Committee include chairperson and board member Andresia Moseley, Cheryl Lee, Kim Rosenthal, and Chris Green along with community members Vivian Rodriguez, Joshua Goff, and Cornelio Aguilera.

The group’s mission is to improve the diversity of our organization and promote equality through both educational initiatives and promoting further conversation. Any TTB member interested in joining the EDI Committee should contact us by email at with EDI in the subject line.

Theater has always been able to bring together a shared collective experience from all walks of life and has the power to reach across boundaries and divisions to unite us through stories. The professional theater landscape of the Tampa Bay area is rich with talent, diverse in its reach, and strong in its messages. Theatre Tampa Bay is excited to commemorate Black History Month and continue to support Black-owned businesses. Several productions this month recognize African American culture including CROWNS, which is now playing at The Straz Center. To find out more about this production and our mission, visit us at
