Double the Fun! A Shakespeare “Double Feature” One Night Only!

St Petersburg Shakespeare Festival presents Tim Mooney in “Breakneck Comedy of Errors” and “William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night” back-to-back for one night only, Saturday October 8 in Williams Park, downtown St Petersburg starting at 6 pm. Admission is free! Donations are gratefully appreciated, and proceeds will go to Ft. Meyers residents and theater companies hit by Hurricane Ian.

At 6:00 pm is Tim Mooney’s “Breakneck Comedy of Errors”.  This is a one-man “Comedy of Errors” in which Mooney takes on the impossible: Shakespeare’s craziest farce: 13 characters! One man! One hour! Tim explains, “It’s a play about mistaken identity with all the identities being played by the same person. My challenge was to make sense of all of this in a way that the audience would immediately grasp the evolving situation, but still feel the delight of puzzling through the criss-cross of confusion.”

At 7:30 pm St Pete Shakes hosts its second performance of “William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night”. Shakespeare’s hilarious tale of love, cross dressing, gender-misidentification, secret crushes, and sexual chicanery kicks off St Pete Shakes 22-23 season. Our production is directed by Clareann Despain and

features an all-woman cast.

Bring your lawn chair or blanket and join us for “a whole lotta” Shakespeare under the stars and help our neighbors!
