Tampa Repertory Theatre
The Tampa Repertory theatre presents plays, old and new, with an emphasis on American drama, in productions that are innovative, provocative, and classic. We create high quality theatre designed to attract a multi-generational, culturally diverse audience.
TampaRep mounted its first production in July, 2011 — Alcestis, a Greek tragedy by Euripides. Since then, we’ve produced a range of plays the classics (Hamlet) to the contemporary (Phoenix). We have maintained a focus on American drama with our Tennessee Williams series (A Streetcar Named Desire, The Glass Menagerie, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) and, especially, with our fifth season: American Visions. The plays in Season 5 include The Children’s Hour, True West, Silent Sky, and The Iceman Cometh.
In addition to our mainstage season, TampaRep established TRT2 as our incubator and laboratory theatre. TRT2’s productions include the original script Musings of a “Postmodern” Romantic, contemporary plays such as Bethany and Tender Napalm, and a continuing series of new one-act plays by area playwrights, TampaWrights.
TampaRep performs in a variety of locations, incuding the Studio Theatre at Hillsborough Community College in Ybor City, the Smith Black Box Theater at Tampa Preparatory School, and Studio 120 on the USF Tampa campus. Information about specific productions are on our website (TampaRep.org) or you can email questions to firstname.lastname@example.org. All TampaRep productions are open to the general public.
Tickets can be purchased online, or they may be purchased at the Box Office on the day of a performance. The Box Office opens one hour before curtain time.
