Paul Pullen has recently graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.A in Theatre Performance. This summer he is going to attend Acrobatics of the Heart, an immersion into Grotowski based acting training in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. He is becoming an active member in the professional acting world and intends to pursue acting as a career. Paul has spent most of his life on the stage. In high school he was dedicated to the music program at F.W. Springstead High School, where he would eventually tour the country with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps playing Euphonium. Later in college he began to delve into the theatre scene and after a short period of time on a vocal music performance track decided to focus solely on theatre as performance. Paul has always been dedicated towards going on the “journey” in life and is searching for what is called “the deepest human connection” possible. In the USF Theatre program Paul immediately became a natural towards the craft of acting. His first production was the lead role of Musa in the USF theatre honors production of Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo directed by Leonardo Cirigliano. Since that production Paul continued to be a main stage performer at USF becoming involved in back to back semester performances, sometimes playing multiple principal character roles. These productions include: Ti-Jean and His Brothers, The Road Weeps The Well Runs Dry, Rhinoceros, A Tale of Two Cities, and Out of the Box: A Musical Theatre Cabaret. Paul continues to become involved in the theatre as time goes on and has recently learned how to ride the unicycle. More recently Paul has had a growing interest in physical theatre with the idea of health and fitness as a foundation for growth and development. Paul is happy to finally have the time to commit to acting in the professional environment and he is very excited to begin his life with more responsibility in the arts and more freedom as a human being in our evolving society.
