AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Please prepare TWO contrasting monologues; one-minute each. Monologues should be varying in style and portray the ability to change and embody different characters at will. Monologues showcasing the ability to do a British accent are welcome, though not required.

NOTE: Those auditioning for the roles of BLACK STACHE, MOLLY, SMEE and MRS. BUMBRAKE/TEACHER must prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show. Vocal auditioners, please provide a track (CD, mp3, etc.) as there will not be an accompanist available. A cappella auditions will also be allowed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a “play with music” therefore, everyone in the cast will sing in sea shanties, fight songs, and other festive music. However, this does NOT mean you need to be a “singer,” only that you can sing in a group.

All roles are open to all sexes, races, and ethnic diversities! All actors will double in roles. A large number of characters have a very wide age range. MUSICAL (singing and instrument), STAGE COMBAT/FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE, and ACROBATIC ability a plus, though not required for all roles. The ability to play a ukulele, violin, viola, or harmonica is a plus for the characters TED and SMEE. ALL actors serve variously as sailors, seamen, orphans, pirates, mermaids, Mollusks, ships, doors, scenery, and narrators.
