Emilia Sargent is an actress, singer, director, and teacher, who studied Vocal Performance and Electrical Engineering at Auburn University. A proud member of the Actors Equity Association, most recently appeared in the TampaRep productions of Stupid F@$king Bird and Heisenberg, and directed the TampaRep production of Copenhagen. She was honored as both Creative Loafing Best of the Bay 2017 Best Actress and Theatre Tampa Bay (TTB) 2017 Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play for the one-woman show, Grounded, TTB 2016 Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play for Henrietta Leavitt in Silent Sky, and Creative Loafing Best of the Bay 2012 Best Actress for Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. Select theatre credits include: Metamorphoses, Much Ado About Nothing, A Christmas Story (American Stage); Boston Marriage (Jobsite Theater); Orson’s Shadow, Jane Eyre (Gorilla Theatre); The Underpants (Hat Trick Theatre); A View From the Bridge , Betrayal, I Do! I Do!, The Glass Menagerie (TampaRep). Emilia is also a singer who has appeared in numerous musicals and solo cabarets. A member of SAG-AFTRA, she has appeared in several industrial films, commercials, and television shows. She received the 2016 Hillsborough County Arts Council Individual Artist Grant to further her education as a teaching artist. Passionate about theatre education for youth, this long-time teacher/director (freelance director, Patel Conservatory faculty, Corbett Preparatory School Theatre Director) serves as Director of Education Programs for Tampa Rep and runs the Emilia Sargent Studio for voice and acting.
