Emilia Sargent is an actress, singer, director, and teacher, who studied Vocal Performance and Electrical Engineering at Auburn University. A proud member of the Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA, Emilia most recently appeared on stage in the Tampa Repertory Theatre production of Grounded, and off stage as the director of The Children’s Hour. She was honored to receive the 2016 TTB Outstanding Lead Actress in a Play award for Silent Sky and the 2012 Creative Loafing Best of the Bay Best Actress award for her portrayal of Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. In 2016, Emilia was awarded a Hillsborough County Individual Artist Grant to attend a summer residency at the Atlantic Theatre in New York. Passionate about theatre education for youth, Emilia founded and directed the S.A.L.T.™ Drama Intensive for youth in 2001-2013, served on the theater and music faculty at the Patel Conservatory for eight years, served on the Corbett Preparatory School faculty for three years, and has directed numerous youth musicals in the Tampa Bay area. Emilia currently serves as the Director of Education Programs for Tampa Rep and teaches voice and acting through the Emilia Sargent Studio at the Community School of the Arts.
