I relish travel and my sweetheart of 23 years and I do so regularly. We just returned from a 16 day cruise through the Panama Canal starting in Ft. Lauderdale & ending in San Diego with ports in Cartagena, Colon, Guatemala, Costa Rico, and Mexico. Our last big trip in October (our birthday month) was through ancient cities in China, in Hong Kong for the democratic uprising against Beijing, & Tibet (which was unusual). As I say this, I think of the horror right now in Nepal and feel extreme sadness for that impoverished nation. I wanted a dog and this same sweetheart said, “No! because I will be the one that has to walk it at 6am when you want to sleep.” He’s right! So instead … I got a zoo! After detailed, in depth, ongoing training, I am a docent at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo. You can find me every Monday afternoon in Lorikeet Landing with birds all a flutter getting nectar from the guests. Fun! I get the pleasure of talking to guest about all the animals at our zoo and sharing with them an important conservation message on how we can take action to save many species threatened with extinction. I am a facilitator for the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium because I am committed to creating an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on the planet. If you are a member of any organization or group that would be interested in sponsoring a symposium, I can arrange that for a most nominal fee (even only by donation). I am currently participating in their Game Changer Intensive in order to up my ante. I live in a dreamy, little community on the barrier islands called Indian Rocks Beach. We just last weekend had our “Biggest Beach Party Ever” and nearly 5,000 people joined us from around Tampa Bay and parts unknown. We have lots of cool things here for our community and others and it is fun volunteering and feeling part of something special.
